Vande Bharat Sleeper Ticket Cancellation Charges: Indian Railways has recently given passengers a wonderful gift in the form of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. This state-of-the-art train will run between Howrah and Guwahati. This means the train will soon be seen running on the tracks. Passengers are showing great enthusiasm for this train, which is designed to make long journeys comfortable. But what if you have to cancel your ticket? How much refund will you get?

The Railways has clarified that the refund and cancellation policy for the Vande Bharat Sleeper is different from that of other trains. Let's find out what you should know before traveling on this magnificent train.

First, know the fare:
The government has kept the middle class in mind when setting the fares. According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, while air travel between Howrah and Guwahati costs approximately ₹6,000 to ₹8,000, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train's fare for Third AC, including meals, is approximately ₹2,300, Second AC is approximately ₹3,000, and First AC is approximately ₹3,600.

How much will the cancellation charge be?
If you have a confirmed ticket and you cancel it 48 hours before the train's departure time, a flat cancellation charge will apply. This will be as follows:

AC First Class/Executive Class: ₹240 + GST
AC 2-Tier/First Class: ₹200 + GST
AC 3-Tier/Economy/Chair Car: ₹180 + GST
Avoid last-minute cancellations
Between 12 and 48 hours
If you cancel your ticket between 12 and 48 hours before the train's departure, 25% of the total fare will be deducted.

Between 4 and 12 hours
If the time is between 4 and 12 hours, you will lose 50% of the fare.

What happens after the chart is prepared? If the train chart has been prepared and you have a confirmed ticket, no refund will be given upon cancellation. Therefore, make any decisions before the chart is prepared.

Relief for Waiting List and RAC ticket holders
If your ticket is on the waiting list or RAC and you cancel it up to 30 minutes before the train's departure, you will receive a full refund after deducting the clerkage charge.

Full refund if the train is delayed
According to the Vande Bharat Sleeper rules, if the train is delayed by more than 3 hours and you do not wish to travel, you will receive a full refund without any charges. The refund rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper are largely similar to those of premium trains. Refunds for tickets booked through digital transactions will be credited directly to your bank account.
