Railways have made arrangements from Durga Puja to Chhath festival, 150 Puja special trains will run

In view of the huge demand for passengers traveling to Bihar, the Railways has planned to run more than 12,000 trains. Notification of many of these trains has also been issued.
As soon as the festival season arrives, the crowd in trains starts increasing. People turn to trains to go to their home and family. In view of this increasing crowd, Indian Railways has taken a big step for the convenience of the passengers. Railways has announced to run 150 Puja special trains from 21 September to 30 November 2025. A total of 2024 extra trips will be made through these trains, so that people can easily reach their homes and celebrate the happiness of festivals. These trains will prove to be a boon especially for the passengers of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and South India.
Special arrangements for Bihar
In view of the huge demand of passengers going to Bihar, the Railways has planned to run more than 12 thousand trains. Notification of many of these trains has also been issued. East Central Railway has decided to run 14 special trains, which will pass through major stations like Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. These trains will make a total of 588 trips, so that people of Bihar can easily go to their homes from cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
South Central Railway is ahead
South Central Railway will run the maximum number of 48 Puja special trains this time. These trains will start from major stations like Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Vijayawada and will make a total of 684 trips. These trains will connect rural and urban areas of South India to big cities, which will make it easier for passengers to reach home during festivals.
Special trains in Kolkata and Mumbai too
East Railway has announced to run 24 special trains from busy stations like Kolkata, Howrah and Sealdah. These trains will make 198 trips. At the same time, Western Railway has planned to run 24 trains from cities like Mumbai, Surat and Vadodara, which will complete 204 trips. These trains will be especially beneficial for the passengers of North India and Gujarat.
Attention to South and other regions too
Southern Railway has announced to run 10 special trains from stations like Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai, which will make 66 trips. Apart from this, East Coast Railway will run trains from stations like Bhubaneswar, Puri and Sambalpur. Special trains will also be run from stations like South Eastern Railway Ranchi and Tatanagar, North Central Railway Prayagraj and Kanpur, South East Central Railway Bilaspur and Raipur, and West Central Railway Bhopal and Kota.

Railways has appealed to the passengers to book tickets in advance for traveling in these special trains. Complete information about the list of trains, time table, route and stoppages can be found on the official website of Railways, IRCTC app or nearest railway station. Railways has advised to book early for confirmed tickets, as there is a lot of crowd during the festive season.
