Central Railway's vigilance branch is continuously monitoring illegal ticketing activities, including ticket transfers, touting, travel using fake identity cards, and counterfeit tickets. Several arrests have been made.
Action taken:
Illegal e-ticketing through software was detected in Ambernath. 8 tickets worth ₹12,000 and 13 IRCTC IDs were seized, an FIR was registered, and the case was closed in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines.
Kolhapur: Four touts were caught with 4 tickets worth ₹25,557. A case has been registered.
Three touts were caught with 3 JCR tickets worth ₹10,520 at the Deccan Gymkhana PRS in Pune. They were handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
A reservation clerk misused the system by issuing tickets without printing them for personal gain. Action was taken.
Two passengers were caught traveling with fake identity cards and transferred tickets on train number 11055. Both were fined as per railway rules.
Two non-railway employees were caught traveling on PRS tickets booked using privilege passes on train number 12741. Both were fined ₹10,990.
A large-scale touting racket was busted in Malkapur. Two individuals were caught with 182 JCR tickets worth ₹10.09 lakh. Unauthorized connections between the touts, reservation clerks, and the Railway Protection Force were discovered. Action was taken.
