Important rules for train travel during Diwali
Prohibited items:
Firecrackers and explosives
Stoves and gas cylinders
Acid and smelly substances
Leather or wet skin
Oil or grease in packages
Any item that can break, leak, or harm other passengers
Note that you can carry up to 20 kg of ghee, but it must be properly sealed in a tin can.
Consequences of violating the rules:
If caught with any prohibited item, you may face severe penalties under Section 164 of the Railways Act. This could result in:
Fine up to ₹1,000
Imprisonment up to three years
