If you travel by train, this news is relevant to you. Effective today, July 15, the Railways has introduced a major change in the rules for booking general train tickets via the mobile app. You are now required to provide photo ID details when booking a general ticket through the app.

This new rule applies only to general train tickets booked via the RailOne app; there are no changes for tickets purchased at station counters. In other words, if you book a general ticket using the RailOne app, providing photo ID details is mandatory.

**What has changed in the RailOne App starting today?**
*   It is now mandatory to provide a valid photo identity card (ID) when booking a general ticket via the RailOne app.
*   You must carry the same original identity card during the journey that was used for booking the ticket.
*   Valid forms of identification include Aadhaar card, Voter ID, PAN card, driving license, or any other government-issued photo ID.
*   Ticket examiners (TTEs) may verify your identity along with the ticket during checks.
*   **Screenshots of general tickets will not be valid.**
*   You can no longer travel by simply showing a screenshot of the ticket or a photo sent via WhatsApp; you must display the live ticket within the RailOne app.

If a passenger presents only a screenshot or a photo, they may be considered to be traveling without a valid ticket. In such cases, fines or other actions may be taken in accordance with railway regulations.

**How to book a general ticket via the RailOne App:**
*   Open the RailOne app and log in using your registered mobile number.
*   Select the 'General Ticket' or 'Book Ticket' option.
*   Enter the names of the starting station and the destination station.
*   Fill in the passenger details.
*   Select your photo identity card type and enter its number.
*   Make the payment using UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
*   Once the payment is successful, the ticket will appear in the RailOne app, linked with your identity details.
