Questions Raised Over EWS Category in UP Police Recruitment; Board Issues Warning
Questions have emerged regarding the results of the UP Police constable recruitment. Specifically, concerns have been raised on social media about the selection of a candidate under the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category, prompting a clarification from the recruitment board.
The UP Police announced the results for the constable recruitment on October 14, with 32,679 candidates selected through the process. Shortly after the results were declared, questions began to surface—particularly on social media—regarding the selection of a candidate under the EWS category. In response, the board has provided a clarification and issued a warning to those spreading rumors.
The board posted a statement on social media addressing the selection of a candidate named Manmohan Singh Yaduvanshi under the EWS category. The board clarified that the candidate, listed at serial number 400, was selected under the EWS category based on the documents he submitted. The board further stated that the reservation rules mandated by the government were strictly followed throughout the recruitment process. Additionally, the board urged the public not to draw conclusions about a candidate’s caste, social class, or category based solely on their name, surname, or common caste-based titles. It also cautioned against spreading rumors on social media without proper verification.
