In India, the salary of government primary teachers varies according to the state and the institution. Selection commissions of different states of the country select them and the state government determines their salary. However, the discussion of implementing the 8th Pay Commission is in full swing in the country these days. Now in such a situation, the question arises of how much salary will be given to primary teachers after the implementation of the 8th pay. If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, then the pay scale of primary teachers here ranges from Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800, which includes a grade pay of Rs 4,200. If we talk about the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), then the in-hand salary (including HRA) of primary teachers here is around Rs 53,400.

How much will the salary increase after the 8th pay scale

Recently, the central government has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, which aims to review the salaries, allowances and pensions of government employees and pensioners. According to experts, if the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission is fixed between 2.6 to 2.85, then the salary and pension can increase by about 25-30%. For example, if the fitment factor is 2.86, the minimum basic salary can increase to Rs 51,480. In this way, there is a possibility of a significant increase in the salary of primary teachers, although the exact figures will be clear only after the recommendations of the commission and the approval of the government.

This is how the pay scale is decided.

At present, government teachers are given salaries according to the different grade pay of the state. States recruit them through examinations like REET and Super TAT, after which primary teachers are given pay scales after appointments. However, the salary information is shared along with the guidelines. Now in such a situation, all the teachers are eagerly waiting for the implementation of 8th pay.
