The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) 2025 provides financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women from economically weaker sections. The scheme supports mothers and children’s health and promotes a positive social attitude toward daughters.

PMMVY Benefits

First Child:

  • ₹3,000 on pregnancy registration and completion of 1 ANC checkup

  • ₹2,000 after childbirth registration and completion of 14 weeks of immunization

  • Total: ₹5,000 + additional incentive under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), which can bring the total to approximately ₹6,000

Second Child (if a girl):

  • One-time payment of ₹6,000 to encourage girl child births and improve the gender ratio

  • In case of miscarriage or stillbirth, the next pregnancy is treated as a new case, and benefits are applicable again

Eligibility Criteria

  • Woman must be at least 19 years old

  • Pregnant women facing wage loss due to employment

  • Benefits are available only for first live child and second child if it is a girl

  • Application must be made within 270 days of childbirth

  • Beneficiaries include women with BPL ration card, SC/ST category, persons with disabilities, PM-JAY, e-Shram card, MGNREGA job card, Kisan Samman Nidhi, etc.

Exclusions:

  • Women with regular jobs in central, state, or PSU

  • Women already receiving maternity benefits from any other scheme

  3. Log in and go to Beneficiary Registration

  4. Select first or second child as applicable

  5. Upload required documents and submit
