PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2025: Direct Income Support for Farmers

Government Scheme Offering Direct Annual Financial Support to Farmers

To strengthen the agricultural sector and improve the financial security of farmers, the Government of India has introduced several welfare initiatives. Among the most impactful is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan), which provides direct annual income support to small and medium farmers.

Launched to ease the financial burden of cultivators, the scheme ensures that registered farmers receive ₹6,000 every year directly into their bank accounts. This amount, given in three installments of ₹2,000 each every four months, helps farmers purchase seeds, fertilizers, equipment, and other essentials for farming. Additionally, the support also assists families in meeting household expenses.

Objective of the Scheme

The core purpose of PM-Kisan is to provide steady financial support to farmers so they can maintain agricultural productivity without falling into debt. By ensuring a minimum level of income, the scheme also contributes to food security, rural stability, and the overall growth of the agricultural economy.

Benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

  • Every eligible farmer family receives ₹6,000 annually.

  • The money is transferred directly into the farmer’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

  • Payments are made in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, ensuring regular cash flow every four months.

  • The scheme is targeted towards small and marginal farmers, who are most vulnerable to financial stress.

Why PM-Kisan is Important

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has emerged as a major support system for millions of farming households. By directly crediting funds into bank accounts, it ensures transparency and eliminates middlemen. The financial aid allows farmers to invest in farming essentials on time and avoid dependence on high-interest loans from informal sources.

In addition to easing financial stress, the scheme promotes dignity and security among farmers. It reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening rural India and ensuring the welfare of those who provide food security to the nation.

Final Word

With its direct income support, the PM-Kisan scheme not only improves the financial stability of farmers but also contributes to the overall growth of the agricultural economy. Farmers who have not yet applied should complete their registration to benefit from this scheme and secure consistent support for their families.
