Many scammers misuse accounts that customers have not been using for a long time. The bank is going to take this big step to deal with such cases. According to the notification issued by the bank, the account calculation will be done based on April 30, 2024. PNB (PNB Bank Update) has said in its notification that all those accounts will be closed after 1 month if they have not been active for the last 3 years. That is, it is not operating. Such accounts whose bank account has been zero in the last three years and in which no activity i.e. transaction has been done.
These accounts will not be closed
The bank will not close Demat Accounts. That is, this rule will not apply to demat accounts. In a post shared by the bank on social media, PNB Bank said that under schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana, Will not even close the account opened for this purpose. Also, it will not close the Minor Saving Account.
How will the account be activated after closure?
According to the notification issued by the bank, if the account becomes inactive and the customer wants to reactivate the account, then such customers will have to go to the branch and fill out the KYC form.
