Punjab National Bank (PNB) has given a shock to its customers. The bank has announced a cut in interest rates on fixed deposits (FDs) by up to 0.20%. These new rates have come into effect from June 1, 2025, and will be effective on FDs up to Rs 3 crore. PNB provides an FD facility for a period of 7 days to 10 years.
Punjab National Bank is paying this much interest on FDs less than Rs 3 crore-
7 days to 14 days: For the general public - 3.50 percent; For senior citizens - 4.00 percent
15 days to 29 days: For the general public - 3.50 percent; For senior citizens - 4.00 percent
30 days to 45 days: For the general public - 3.50 percent; For senior citizens – 4.00 percent
46 days to 60 days: For general public – 4.50 percent; For senior citizens – 5.00 per cent
61 days to 90 days: For general public – 4.50 per cent; For senior citizens – 5.00 per cent
91 days to 179 days: For general public – 5.50 per cent; For senior citizens – 6 per cent
180 days to 270 days: For general public – 6.00 per cent; For senior citizens – 6.50 per cent
271 days to 302 days: For general public – 6.25 per cent; For senior citizens – 6.95 per cent
303 days: For general public – 6.15 per cent; For senior citizens – 7 per cent
304 days to less than one year – 6.25 per cent; For Senior Citizens - Percentage
1 year: For general public - 6.70 percent; For Senior Citizens - 7.20 percent
More than 1 year to 389 days: For general public - 6.70 percent; For Senior Citizens - 7.20 percent
390 days: For general public - 6.90 percent; For Senior Citizens - 7.40 percent
400 days: For general public - 7.10 percent; For Senior Citizens - 7.60 percent
401 days to 505 days: For general public - 6.80 percent; For Senior Citizens - 7.30 percent
