Launched on August 8, 2017, the Pradhan Mantri Shadi Shagun Yojana is primarily designed for girls from minority communities, including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis. Managed by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, this program encourages higher education among those Muslim girls.
Objectives of the scheme
Promoting higher education: To encourage families to invest in the education of their daughters.
Reducing financial burden: Providing monetary support to families to celebrate marriage without financial stress.
Empowering minority communities: Aims to uplift the socio-economic status of families coming from minority backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria
Residence: Must be a resident of Rajasthan.
Economic status: Must have BPL card, Aastha card, Antyodaya card or widow.
Age requirement: Girl must be above 18 years of age.
Income limit: Annual income of the family should not exceed ₹50,000.
