68 percent women got a Mudra loan

68 percent of all Mudra beneficiaries are women, which underlines the important role of this scheme in promoting women-led enterprises across the country. Between FY 2016 and FY 2025, PMMY disbursement amount per woman grew at a CAGR of 13 percent to Rs 62,679, while incremental deposit amount per woman grew at a CAGR of 14 percent to Rs 95,269.

In states where more loans have been given to women, employment generation through small businesses (MSMEs) run by women has been very high. This shows that targeted financial assistance to women is very effective in improving their economic status and work rate.

50% of Mudra accounts are held by SC, ST and OBC

The scheme has made significant progress in breaking traditional credit barriers. As per SBI reports, 50% of Mudra accounts are held by SC, ST, and OBC entrepreneurs, ensuring wider access to formal finance. Moreover, 11% of Mudra loan holders are from minority communities, which shows the scheme's contribution to inclusive growth by enabling marginalized communities to become active participants in the formal economy.
