The central and state governments started many types of schemes to help and uplift the economically weaker people of the country, the most important of these are farmers, who are the largest population of India, to help them, the central government started the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in 2018, under which an annual amount of ₹ 6000 distributed in installments every four months is provided. Although millions of farmers have benefited from this scheme, some criteria have to be met to continue to receive its benefits, let's know about them-
Scheme Overview: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been created to provide financial assistance to farmers across India. Under this initiative, eligible farmers get ₹ 6000 annually to be distributed in installments.
Beneficiary Statistics: Since the inception of this scheme, more than 11 crore farmers have benefited from it. The government has allocated over ₹3 lakh crore for this initiative, which reflects its significant impact on farming communities.
Disbursement of installments: To date, 16 installments have been distributed to eligible farmers. However, the release of the 17th installment is subject to compliance with certain conditions.
KYC Verification: Farmers will have to complete the (KYC) verification process to continue receiving benefits under the scheme.
Role Verification: Additionally, farmers will have to undergo role verification to ensure their eligibility.
Family Employment Status: The scheme provides benefits to farmers whose family members are not employed in government positions.
