Farmers between the ages of 18 and 40 can enroll, they will get a monthly pension of Rs 3000 on reaching the age of 60. The premium for the scheme ranges from Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month depending on the age of enrollment.
Small and marginal farmers, who often struggle to make a living through farming, are the primary beneficiaries of the Kisan Maandhan Yojana. Eligibility criteria include ownership of less than two hectares of land.
