Benefits of the Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY Benefits)
Beneficiaries receive a variety of benefits upon joining the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
First, they receive advanced training related to their work, enabling them to master new technologies and better methods.
During training, the government also provides a daily stipend of ₹500, ensuring they do not have to worry about earning while learning.
In addition, the government provides ₹15,000 to purchase a toolkit, enabling artisans to purchase the necessary tools for their work.
Loans are also available at affordable interest rates for starting or expanding a business.
In the first phase, a loan of ₹1 lakh is provided for 18 months.
If this loan is repaid on time, an additional loan of up to ₹2 lakh can be obtained in the second phase for 30 months.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
This scheme is not open to everyone, but specifically designed for those engaged in 18 traditional occupations. These include artisans such as barbers, cobblers, tailors, washermen, blacksmiths, stone carvers, sculptors, boat builders, basket or broom makers, toy makers, locksmiths, masons, fishing net makers, and hammer or toolkit makers.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and engaged in their traditional occupation. Simply put, those who employ themselves through manual skills are the true beneficiaries of this scheme.
Required Documents for Application
Several important documents are required when applying for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana. These include Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, bank account details, income certificate, caste certificate, domicile certificate, and work-related documents. A mobile number and email ID are also required to ensure timely receipt of application information.

There are two ways to apply for this scheme. You can apply online or offline. To apply online, candidates must register by visiting the scheme's official website, https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/. Those who do not have internet access can also apply by visiting their nearest Common Service Center (CSC).
How to Apply for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana
Step 1: Prepare Eligibility and Documents
First, make sure you are on the list of traditional artisans and that you are 18 years of age or older.
Keep these documents ready: Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, mobile number (should be linked to Aadhaar), and proof of work (if available).
Step 2: Aadhaar e-KYC and Mobile Verification
Aadhaar e-KYC is mandatory for applying to the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
For this, visit your nearest CSC (Common Service Center) or complete the Aadhaar e-KYC online. Here, your mobile number and Aadhaar number will be verified.
Step 3: Visit the official website pmvishwakarma.gov.in
On the website, you will find the Login / Register option.
Step 4: New Registration
Click on “Register” or “Apply Now”. Enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number. An OTP will be sent; enter it and verify. Your account will then be created.
Step 5: Fill out the Application Form
Now, the application form will open. You will need to fill in all the information such as your name, address, age, your traditional occupation (e.g., tailor, barber, cobbler, etc.), bank account details, and upload the necessary documents. Fill in all the information carefully and correctly.
Step 6: Submit the Form
Double-check all the details and then click on the “Submit” button.
Upon successful application, you will receive an Acknowledgement / Application Number.
