Ahead of the event, he stated that this initiative is a crucial part of efforts to empower the nation's youth.

On Friday morning, Prime Minister Modi posted on the social media platform X: "At 5 PM today, I will participate in a program where incentive amounts worth approximately ₹2,400 crore will be distributed under the 'Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana' (PM-VBRY). This is a significant step towards empowering our youth, aimed at boosting employment opportunities and expanding the social security net."

What is the PM-VBRY scheme?
The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) is a flagship employment-generation scheme of the Central Government. Its objectives include creating new jobs, integrating employees into the formal sector, and expanding the scope of social security. According to the government, approximately 15 lakh (1.5 million) employment opportunities have been created through this scheme so far. Under the scheme, youth securing their first job receive financial assistance of up to ₹15,000. The aim is to assist new employees as they begin their careers.

Benefits for companies too
Companies that hire new employees will also receive incentives from the government. Employers may receive benefits of up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee hired. This is intended to encourage companies to increase recruitment.

When was the scheme launched?
The scheme came into effect on August 1, 2025. The government has allocated a budget of ₹99,446 crore for this initiative. The government aims to create over 3.5 crore (35 million) employment opportunities within two years. Of these, approximately 1.92 crore (19.2 million) individuals will be entering the workforce for the first time.

The government believes that this scheme will help create better employment opportunities for the youth and strengthen the country's economy.
