Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the House in her budget speech that 1.28 crore registrations and 14 lakh applications have been received in the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
Know about Pradhan Mantri Surya Free Electricity Scheme
PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 February 2024. Under this scheme, up to 300 units of electricity are to be provided free of cost to 1 crore families every month. Under the Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, a subsidy will be given by the government to buy solar panels.
Which documents will be required?
Before applying for rooftop solar, you must have documents like an Aadhar card, mobile number, electricity bill, ration card, income certificate, photo, affidavit, and residence certificate.
