Free electricity up to Rs 15000
The goal of PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is to provide free electricity to all the families in India, who choose the option of installing solar panels on the roof. Such families will be able to get 300 units of electricity free every month. Subsidy will be given for this which will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the people. Through this scheme, by installing a rooftop solar unit of 3 kW capacity, a family consuming up to 300 units per month can get free electricity up to about Rs 15,000 in a year.
How much investment will have to be made?
To take advantage of this scheme, you have to apply online. In the first phase, a target has been set to benefit 1,00,00,000 people. Talking about the cost, the cost for 1 kilowatt can be around 90 thousand rupees, for 2 kilowatts it can be around 1.5 lakh rupees, and for 3 kilowatts it can be up to 2 lakh rupees. If you want to install solar panels on the roof of the house, then to reduce the cost burden, you will have to apply for a subsidy. Under the scheme, Rs 18 thousand will be given for 1 kilowatt, Rs 30,000 for up to 2 kilowatts, and a total subsidy of Rs 78,000 for 3 kilowatts.
How to apply for the scheme
First of all, go to the official portal pmsuryaghar.gov.in
On the home page, you have to click on Apply For Rooftop Solar.
After this, the registration page will open in front of you.
In that, you have to enter your state, district, Electricity Distribution Company / Utility, and Consumer Account Number (which is written on the electricity bill).
After this, you will receive OTP by entering the mobile number.
You can also enter your email after entering the OTP.
Enter the captcha in Human Check and click on the Submit button.
Once you register, you will see a success message.
After this, you will have to log in and submit the application.
