What is Bihar's Chief Minister Women's Employment Scheme?
The Bihar government's Chief Minister Women's Employment Scheme aims to empower women by providing them with seed capital to start self-employment ventures and livelihood activities of their choice. Each beneficiary will receive an initial grant of ₹10,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), with the possibility of additional assistance of up to ₹2 lakh in subsequent phases.

Beneficiaries will be free to choose sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, sewing, weaving, and small-scale enterprises to start income-generating activities. In addition to financial assistance, community resource persons from self-help groups (SHGs) will provide training and support, while rural haat-bazaars will be strengthened to enable market access for women's products.

Who will benefit from the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme?
The Chief Minister's Employment Scheme primarily benefits women from Bihar. This scheme gives them the freedom to choose their preferred employment. To avail of the scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar. The minimum educational qualification is 10+2, Intermediate, ITI, Polytechnic Diploma, or equivalent. Only women between the ages of 18 and 60 are eligible for this scheme. No member of the applicant's family should be in a government job.

But we don't care about family; we work for the entire Bihar."
