The Narendra Modi government started many such schemes in its second term, which directly benefited the poor class. One such scheme is the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana was started on 17 September in the year 2023. So far more than 13 lakh people have registered in this scheme. Let us know the details of the scheme.
18 types of businesses included
18 businesses including artisans working with the help of their hands and tools have been added under this scheme. Its scope includes carpenter, boat maker, weapon maker, blacksmith, hammer and tool kit maker, lock maker, goldsmith, potter, sculptor (sculptor, stone carver), and stone breaker.
Apart from this, artisans and craftsmen engaged in the manufacture of cobblers/shoe artisans, masons, basket/mat/broom makers/coir weavers, doll and toy makers (traditional), barbers, garland makers, washermen, tailors, and fishing nets have been included.
A loan of Rs 3 lakh will be available here at low interest -
Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh can be availed. This loan is given without pledging anything. The loan is being given in two installments of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh at a fixed concessional interest rate of 5 percent for 18 months and 30 months respectively.
Beneficiaries who have completed basic training will be eligible to avail of the first installment of loan assistance up to Rs one lakh. The second loan installment is available to those beneficiaries who have availed of the first installment and have maintained a standard loan account. Apart from this, it is also mandatory to adopt digital transactions in your business.
