The Suman Sakhi chatbot, based on AI technology, will provide information on all issues ranging from pregnancy to periods. This chatbot is being called women's digital sister. It will be available 24 hours a day in Hindi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Suman Sakhi chatbot in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, taking a major digital step to help women with health issues such as pregnancy, childbirth, and the pandemic. This AI-based chatbot will provide information on all health issues, ranging from pregnancy to periods. The Suman Sakhi chatbot is also being called women's digital sister. This chatbot will be available 24 hours a day in Hindi, especially for women in rural and remote areas. Women can initiate a conversation with this chatbot by sending a WhatsApp message to 9770905942. Simply typing "Hello" or "I want to ask a question" on this number will open a chatbot menu, providing information on pregnancy testing, danger signs, newborn care, period-related problems, and the nearest health center.
Why is the Suman Sakhi Chatbot special?
The Suman Sakhi Chatbot is the country's first state-level AI chatbot focused on women's health and nutrition. Through it, women will receive instant information about government schemes, family planning, and vaccination services. The unique feature of this chatbot is its complete confidentiality, allowing women to share their concerns without hesitation.
An Initiative by NHM and MPSeDC
The Suman Sakhi Chatbot was jointly developed by the National Health Mission and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation. Initially, it will be implemented in select districts and then gradually expanded across the state. Launching the chatbot, PM Modi stated that it will help reduce maternal and infant mortality and increase access to health services. He also transferred funds to the accounts of more than 10 lakh women across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana with a single click and distributed sickle cell anemia cards.
