The government agency, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), has recently refuted this report. Through its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the PIB shared the viral letter in question, clearly stamping it with the word "FAKE." While sharing the letter, the accompanying caption stated: "A fake loan approval letter is currently circulating, claiming that a loan of ₹5 lakh is being offered under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, contingent upon the payment of a processing fee of ₹2,550."

Furthermore, in its fact-check, the PIB clarified that this letter is fraudulent. The public has also been advised to remain vigilant. The statement further notes:
