Many farmers are still unable to avail the benefits of this scheme. If such farmers apply and complete the registration process in time, they may become eligible to receive benefits starting from the upcoming installment. Here, we explain the registration process.
Farmer ID and e-KYC are mandatory.
The government has further simplified and digitized the registration process for the PM Kisan scheme. To avail the benefits, it is now mandatory for farmers to obtain a Farmer ID (Farmer Registry) and complete e-KYC. This makes the registration and verification process much easier than before.
Farmers can easily apply for the PM Kisan scheme in two ways:
Online Application: Farmers can apply from home by visiting the official PM Kisan website and selecting the 'New Farmer Registration' option.
Via CSC or Vasudha Kendra: Farmers can also register for the scheme by visiting their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or Vasudha Kendra and using biometric authentication.
Which farmers are eligible for the scheme?
The benefits of the PM Kisan scheme are available to farming families who have agricultural land registered in their names in government records. A farming family is defined as comprising a husband, wife, and minor children. In other words, the land records must be in the farmer's name.
