PM Kisan Yojana installment may be released on this day in October, know which farmers may suffer a loss
The Government of India runs many schemes aimed at helping its citizens, especially to meet the needs of various groups. Being an agricultural country, more than 50% of India's population still depends on farming for their livelihood. To ensure the well-being of farmers, many of whom struggle financially, the government constantly introduces beneficial schemes according to their needs. One such initiative launched in 2018 is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which is designed to provide financial assistance to farmers.
Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹ 6,000 annually in three installments. So far 17 installments have been distributed and now farmers are eagerly waiting for the 18th installment. However, some may face challenges in receiving this next payment. Let us know in detail.
18th installment is expected in October
Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the central government transfers ₹2,000 to farmers' bank accounts thrice a year, with each payment occurring at an interval of four months. The 17th installment was released in June 2024. According to media reports, the next installment is likely to be distributed in October, although no official confirmation has been made yet. More than 12 crore farmers have benefited from the scheme so far.
Possible problems for some farmers
The government has mandated that all farmers under the scheme must complete their e-KYC and land verification process. However, many farmers have not yet completed these requirements. Those who fail to complete their e-KYC and land verification may face delays or miss out on receiving their next installment. To avoid any disruption in payments, farmers are advised to complete these formalities as soon as possible.
