Farmers are awaiting the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana. Meanwhile, discussions surrounding the scheme's budget have also intensified. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on February 1, 2026.  There is much speculation among farmers about what the budget will offer to the agriculture sector. One topic of discussion is a potential increase in the PM Kisan Yojana budget. Let's find out how much budget the government might allocate for the PM Kisan Yojana this time.

Whenever the Union Budget is presented, the budgets for various schemes are also determined. Ministries determine the budget for the schemes under their purview. They submit their demands accordingly, and the central government allocates the budget to each ministry. This budget is then used to assist with the respective schemes.

What is the budget for the PM Kisan Yojana?
According to the budget released for the financial year 2025-26, Rs 63,500 crore was allocated for the PM Kisan Yojana. There is a possibility of an increase in this year's budget. This is because the same budget was allocated for the scheme in 2024 as well. This means the budget has remained the same for two years. Therefore, there is a possibility of an increase this time.

The installments released so far this financial year have been disbursed through this budget. One installment for this financial year is still pending and is expected in February.

Whether the budget for the PM Kisan Yojana will increase in the upcoming financial year will only be known on February 1, 2026, the day of the budget presentation. However, if there is an increase, there is also a possibility that the installment amount might increase.

Currently, farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually under the PM Kisan Yojana. Several reports have claimed that this amount might be increased. However, the central government has not made any such statement. If the budget for this scheme is increased, the amount received under the scheme could also increase.
