PM Kisan Yojana: Failure to do this means the 24th installment won't reach your account
PM Kisan Yojana: Farmers awaiting the 24th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana must complete their e-KYC. If the e-KYC process is incomplete, the installment could be delayed. Here, we explain how farmers can complete their e-KYC from the comfort of their homes.
PM Kisan Yojana: The Central Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme in February 2019 to provide financial assistance to farmers. Under this scheme, ₹6,000 is sent annually directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers. This amount is transferred in three installments of ₹2,000 each via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to bank accounts linked to the farmers' Aadhaar numbers. So far, 23 installments have been disbursed to farmers' accounts, and they are now awaiting the 24th installment. Let us explain why e-KYC is essential to avail the scheme's benefits and how it can be done.
Why is e-KYC necessary?
e-KYC has been made mandatory under the PM Kisan Yojana to ensure that the scheme's funds reach the correct and eligible farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account directly. This eliminates the role of middlemen and ensures that the benefits of government assistance reach the intended recipient.
Three ways to complete e-KYC
According to information available on pmkisan.gov.in, beneficiary farmers of the PM Kisan Yojana can complete their e-KYC in three ways. First, the OTP-based e-KYC facility is available on the PM-KISAN portal and mobile app. Second, farmers can complete biometric e-KYC by visiting a nearby Common Service Center (CSC) or State Service Center (SSK). Third, face authentication-based e-KYC is available on the PM-KISAN mobile app, allowing farmers to complete the process from home using facial recognition.
How to complete e-KYC via OTP?
To complete e-KYC via OTP, it is mandatory for the farmer's mobile number to be linked to their Aadhaar. Follow these simple steps:
First, visit the official PM-KISAN website.
Click on the ‘e-KYC’ option located at the top right of the website.
Enter your Aadhaar number and proceed.
Enter the OTP received on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
Once the correct OTP is entered, your e-KYC process will be completed.
How to complete e-KYC via Biometrics?
The biometric e-KYC facility is available at over 4 lakh Common Service Centers (CSCs) and various State Service Centers (SSKs) across the country. Farmers can easily complete their e-KYC by visiting a nearby center.
Visit the nearest CSC or SSK with your Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
The operator there will assist you in completing biometric authentication through Aadhaar-based verification.
Once the verification is complete, your e-KYC process will be finished.
How to complete e-KYC via Face Authentication?
Farmers can now complete e-KYC from the comfort of their homes using Face Authentication on their mobile phones. This is an easy and convenient method for e-KYC. Follow the steps below:
First, download the PM-KISAN mobile app and the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.
Open the PM-KISAN app and log in using your registered mobile number.
Next, go to the 'Beneficiary Status' page.
If the e-KYC status shows 'No', click on 'e-KYC'.
Enter your Aadhaar number and provide consent for the face scan.
Once the face scan is successful, your e-KYC will be completed.
