PM Kisan Yojana 21st Installment Released Early for Three States, Nationwide Payment Expected Soon

The Central Government has released the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme for farmers in three states ahead of schedule. Farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have already received their payments as a special relief measure following recent natural disasters. While these states have been given priority, farmers in other parts of the country are eagerly waiting for their turn. Here’s everything you need to know about the early release, total payouts, and when the remaining farmers can expect their share.
Early Payment for Disaster-Affected Farmers
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced via video conferencing that over 27 lakh farmers across the three states have already received more than ₹540 crore directly in their bank accounts. Among the beneficiaries are around 2.7 lakh women farmers. These early payments were made to support farmers whose crops were damaged by floods, landslides, and other recent natural calamities.
Chouhan explained that the installment of ₹2,000 will help farmers meet essential household expenses, purchase seeds and fertilizers, and restart farming activities. He assured that the government will continue to stand by farmers during natural disasters and economic hardships. Since the PM-KISAN scheme was launched on 24 February 2019, total payments to farmers in these three states have crossed ₹13,626 crore.
State-Wise Payment Details
According to official data, Himachal Pradesh received ₹160.21 crore for 8,01,045 farmers, Punjab received ₹221.98 crore for 11,09,895 farmers, and Uttarakhand received ₹157.83 crore for 7,89,128 farmers. These funds were credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts to provide immediate relief.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited flood-affected areas and announced an additional relief package of ₹4,300 crore. This includes special assistance for families of the deceased and injured, as well as support for children under the PM CARES for Children initiative.
Nationwide Release Timeline
Farmers in other states will receive the 21st installment as per the regular schedule. Although the government has not yet announced an official date, media reports suggest that the payments are likely to be credited between October and November 2025. The 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme was released on 2 August 2025, with around 9.7 crore farmers across India receiving a total of ₹20,500 crore directly in their bank accounts.
How to Check Beneficiary Status
Farmers can easily check their payment status online by visiting the official PM-KISAN website (pmkisan.gov.in). On the homepage, navigate to the “Farmers Corner” section and click on “Beneficiary Status.” Enter your registration number, mobile number, or Aadhaar number to view payment details, including the credited installment and bank account status. If your name does not appear in the beneficiary list, you will not receive the 21st installment and should immediately contact the concerned authorities.
The early release of the 21st installment highlights the government’s commitment to supporting farmers during emergencies while ensuring that the nationwide rollout stays on track. Farmers across the country can expect their next payment soon, provided their eKYC and Aadhaar details are updated in the system.
