PM Kisan: Will the amount given to farmers increase to Rs 12000 in the budget, here is the detail..
PM Kisan Budget: The government may soon double the amount of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana i.e. from Rs 6000 per annum to Rs 12000 per annum. For this, the Standing Committee headed by Parliamentary Committee Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi has submitted its recommendations to the Modi government.
The Modi government started the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana in the year 2019. The purpose of starting this scheme was to help farmers buy fertilizers and seeds at the time of harvest, which the farmers are still getting the benefit of. On the other hand, if everything goes well, farmers will start getting Rs 12000 instead of Rs 6000 in the PM Kisan Samman Yojana from the next financial year.
When was the recommendation to give Rs 12000 made?
Like last year, this year too farmers are demanding the implementation of MSP on crops. Meanwhile, on 17 December 2024, Charanjit Singh Channi presented the first Demand for Grants of the 18th Lok Sabha regarding the Ministry of Farmers and Welfare in the Lok Sabha. In this report, the Standing Committee of Parliament attached to the Ministry of Agriculture Welfare recommended doubling the amount given to farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The Standing Committee of Parliament, raising several issues in its report, demanded to increase the PM Samman Nidhi from Rs 6000 per annum to Rs 12000 per annum.
May get approval for the budget
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country's general budget for the financial year 2025-26 on 1 February 2025. During this, the Finance Minister can accept the demand of the Standing Committee of Parliament and increase the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Let us tell you that this is not the first time that there has been a demand to increase the PM Samman Kisan Nidhi, before this such a demand was raised last year as well.
Farmers get Rs 3.45 lakh crore.
The Prime Minister Kisan Samman Yojana was started in 2019, at that time Piyush Goyal was the Finance Minister of the country. Through this scheme, small farmers are given Rs 6000 annually in three installments, in which the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is directly transferred to the farmers' bank accounts. So far, 18 installments have been released in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, in which the central government has directly transferred Rs 3.45 lakh crore to the farmers.
