Recently, in the Bihar assembly elections, the JDU and BJP alliance had announced that the Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Yojana would be implemented after winning the elections. Under this scheme, PM Kisan beneficiaries would receive an additional Rs 3000 annually. Now it is believed that the central government may increase the assistance amount to Rs 9000 across the country. The world's largest DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, was launched in 2019. However, the amount has not been increased even once since then. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that farmers will receive a significant benefit.

Several states are providing additional assistance.
Apart from the central government's Rs 6000 per year, farmers in several states are also receiving additional assistance from their respective state governments. In Madhya Pradesh (CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana) and Maharashtra (Namo Shetkari Yojana), the state governments provide an additional Rs 6000 each to PM Kisan beneficiaries. Additional assistance is also provided to farmers in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, under the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, an additional Rs 3000 is given annually.

Will the benefit be included in the 22nd installment of PM Kisan?
If the central government announces an increase in the PM Kisan assistance amount in the budget, the question arises whether this benefit will be included in the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which is due in February. We would like to inform you that the possibility of this happening is almost negligible because even if this announcement is made in the budget, it will take time from the issuance of the notification to its implementation. Therefore, the benefits will only be available in the new financial year.

What to do if there is no green signal on your PM Kisan status?
If you are not getting a green signal on your PM Kisan status despite fulfilling the eligibility criteria, some information from your side may be incomplete. First, complete your PM Kisan eKYC. This can be easily done on the portal pm kisan.gov.in using your mobile and Aadhaar card. If you have not yet obtained a farmer ID, go to the agriculture office and get your farmer identity card immediately. Special camps are being organized in several states for this purpose. Take your land ownership documents, PM Kisan registration number, and Aadhaar card to these camps and register as a farmer. Please note that you will not be able to avail of any government schemes without farmer registration.
