In the budget for 2024-25, the government has not announced an increase in the amount for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, although many important announcements have been made for the agriculture sector, which will benefit the farmers.

The central government is running many big schemes so that the farmers of the country do not face any problems in growing crops. Under a special scheme, farmers get benefits directly in their bank accounts.

This scheme is known as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Although the government has not increased the amount for this scheme in the budget for 2024-25, it has made many other important announcements for the agriculture sector, which will be beneficial for the farmers.

Major announcements for agriculture by the Modi government

The Modi government has allocated ₹1.52 lakh crore for agriculture and allied sectors. This year, the budget for farmers has been increased by 21.6%, which is an additional ₹27,000 crore.

In the next two years, 1 crore farmers across the country will be connected to natural farming through certification and branding initiatives. If you are a beneficiary of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, then you must be waiting for the 18th installment to be released by the government.

Reports suggest that the Agriculture Department has started preparing the list of beneficiaries for the 18th installment. However, there are several important tasks that PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana beneficiaries need to complete to avoid delay in receiving the installment of ₹2,000.

To receive the 18th installment, you will have to complete tasks like e-KYC and land record verification. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, all landholder farmer families get financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year, which is disbursed directly into their bank accounts in three installments of ₹2,000. However, it is important to note that there was no proposal in the 2024 budget to increase the ₹6,000 annual limit.
