PM Kisan: PM Kisan 22nd installment in trouble, 30 lakh farmers may lose Rs 2000..
There's significant news for millions of farmers awaiting the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme. According to the latest information, the bank accounts of over 3 million farmers across the country have not yet been linked to Aadhaar. Consequently, the next installment of ₹2,000 due to be credited to their accounts could be delayed.
According to ministry data, as of February 6, 2026, the accounts of 3,018,361 farmers were found to be unlinked to Aadhaar. This could have the greatest impact on major agricultural states. Uttar Pradesh has over 1 million farmers whose accounts are not yet linked to Aadhaar. Furthermore, large numbers of farmers in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra could also be affected. Smaller states and union territories like Sikkim, Goa, and Chandigarh also have some farmers listed, but the numbers are low.
The government has clearly indicated that farmers whose bank accounts are not linked to Aadhaar may face difficulties in receiving the benefits of the 22nd installment. Therefore, farmers must complete this process on time. The government sends funds through DBT, or direct bank transfer, and for this, Aadhaar linking of the bank account is considered mandatory.
How to Link Aadhaar
If you are a beneficiary of this scheme, first check the status of your bank account. You can check whether Aadhaar is linked or not through net banking, mobile banking app, or by visiting the bank branch. If necessary, you can update it online by selecting the Aadhaar seeding option. Those who cannot use the online facility can go directly to the bank branch and complete the linking by submitting a form with their Aadhaar card and passbook. Some banks also offer an ATM or SMS facility.
Keep in mind that Aadhaar linking has become a mandatory process for availing the benefits of many government schemes. Once the linking is complete, you will receive an SMS or email notification from the bank. If you get this update done on time, then the upcoming installment of Rs 2000 can reach your account without any interruption.
