PM Kisan 23rd Installment Update: When Will Farmers Receive the Next ₹2,000 Payment?
Millions of farmers across India are now eagerly waiting for the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Under the government’s flagship farmer welfare program, eligible beneficiaries receive financial assistance directly in their bank accounts in three installments every year. Like previous rounds, farmers are expected to receive ₹2,000 each in the upcoming installment.
Although the government has not officially announced the release date yet, past payment patterns indicate that the next installment could arrive between June and July 2026. Farmers who have completed all mandatory formalities, including e-KYC and Aadhaar-bank linking, are likely to receive the payment without delay.
What Is the PM-KISAN Scheme?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central government scheme launched to provide direct financial support to eligible farmer families across the country.
Under the scheme:
- Farmers receive ₹6,000 annually
- The amount is transferred in three equal installments of ₹2,000
- Payments are sent directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
The government says the scheme is aimed at helping farmers manage agricultural expenses, purchase farming inputs, and support daily cultivation-related needs.
When Was the Last Installment Released?
The 22nd installment of PM-KISAN was released on March 13, 2026, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event held in Guwahati, Assam.
Since then, beneficiaries have been waiting for the next payment cycle. Based on earlier trends followed under the scheme, experts believe the 23rd installment may be credited sometime in June or July 2026.
However, the exact release date will only be confirmed after an official announcement from the central government.
Mandatory Requirements to Receive the 23rd Installment
Farmers who wish to receive the next ₹2,000 installment must ensure that all required formalities are completed correctly and on time.
1. e-KYC Completion Is Mandatory
The government has made e-KYC compulsory for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries. Farmers who fail to complete the process may face delays or suspension of payments.
There are two ways to complete e-KYC:
- OTP-based online verification through the official PM-KISAN portal
- Biometric authentication at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)
2. Aadhaar Must Be Linked With Bank Account
Beneficiaries must also ensure that their Aadhaar number is properly linked with their bank account. Incorrect or incomplete bank details may cause installment failures or payment holds.
How Farmers Can Check PM-KISAN Status Online
Farmers can easily track the status of their installment from home through the official PM-KISAN website.
Follow These Steps:
- Visit the official PM-KISAN portal
- Go to the “Farmers Corner” section
- Click on “Beneficiary Status”
- Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account number
- Fill in the captcha code
- Click on “Get Status”
After completing these steps, the screen will display the latest information related to installment payments and beneficiary status.
Which Farmers May Face Payment Delays?
The government has reportedly started scrutinizing certain cases where irregularities or duplicate benefits are suspected.
Installments may be temporarily withheld in situations such as:
- Land purchased after February 1, 2019
- Multiple members of the same family receiving benefits separately
- Husband and wife both claiming PM-KISAN benefits simultaneously
- Incomplete verification or document mismatch
In such cases, payments may remain on hold until physical verification or document checks are completed.
Crores of Farmers Already Benefiting From the Scheme
According to government figures, the PM-KISAN scheme has already benefited crores of farmers across India over the past few years.
During different phases of 2025-26, payments were reportedly transferred to around 9 to 10 crore farmers through direct bank transfers.
The scheme continues to remain one of the government’s largest rural financial assistance programs.
Important Advice for Farmers
Authorities have advised farmers to regularly check their beneficiary status and complete pending formalities immediately to avoid disruptions in the upcoming installment.
Experts say even small mistakes such as:
- Incorrect bank details
- Incomplete Aadhaar linking
- Pending e-KYC
- Name mismatch in records
can stop the next payment from reaching the beneficiary’s account.
Farmers are therefore encouraged to update their records at the earliest and monitor official notifications regarding the release of the 23rd installment.
As anticipation grows, crores of beneficiaries across the country are now waiting for the government’s official announcement on when the next ₹2,000 payment under the PM-KISAN scheme will finally arrive.
