PM Kisan 23rd Installment Update: Complete This Mandatory Task Before June 30 to Receive ₹2,000
Crores of farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the release of the 23rd installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, popularly known as PM-Kisan Yojana. The central government provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers under this scheme, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.
After the release of the 22nd installment earlier this year, attention has now shifted toward the next payment cycle. However, before the upcoming installment is credited, farmers must complete an important mandatory process. Failure to do so may result in the next ₹2,000 payment getting blocked.
When Will the 23rd PM Kisan Installment Be Released?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme on March 13, 2026, during an event held in Guwahati, Assam.
Based on the payment pattern followed in previous years, the 23rd installment is expected to be released between June and July 2026. However, the government has not yet officially announced the exact release date or timing for the next transfer.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive financial support every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring the amount is credited directly into their bank accounts.
What Is the PM-Kisan Scheme?
The PM-Kisan scheme is a central government income-support program aimed at helping eligible landholding farmer families across India.
Under this initiative:
- Farmers receive ₹6,000 annually
- The amount is paid in three installments of ₹2,000 each
- Payments are sent directly to bank accounts via DBT
- The support is intended to help with farming and related expenses
The scheme has become one of the country’s largest farmer welfare programs, benefiting millions of rural households.
e-KYC Is Mandatory for the 23rd Installment
The government has made e-KYC compulsory for all beneficiaries who wish to continue receiving payments under the PM-Kisan scheme.
Farmers must complete their e-KYC process before June 30, 2026. Those who fail to complete verification may not receive the upcoming installment.
Authorities have repeatedly advised beneficiaries to complete the process as early as possible to avoid last-minute technical problems or payment delays.
How to Complete PM-Kisan e-KYC Online
Eligible farmers can complete e-KYC through the official PM-Kisan portal.
Steps to Complete e-KYC
- Visit the official PM-Kisan Portal
- Click on the “e-KYC” option
- Enter your Aadhaar number
- Verify the OTP received on your registered mobile number
- Submit the details successfully
Once verification is completed, the farmer’s account becomes eligible for future installment processing.
Three Methods Available for PM-Kisan e-KYC
The government currently offers three different methods for completing e-KYC under the PM-Kisan scheme.
1. OTP-Based e-KYC
This method is available on the PM-Kisan portal and mobile app. Farmers can verify their Aadhaar-linked mobile number using OTP authentication.
2. Biometric-Based e-KYC
Farmers can visit Common Service Centres (CSCs) or State Service Centres (SSKs) to complete biometric verification.
3. Face Authentication-Based e-KYC
This facility is available through the PM-Kisan mobile application and allows beneficiaries to complete verification using face authentication technology.
Aadhaar Linking Is Also Important
Apart from e-KYC, farmers must ensure that their Aadhaar card is properly linked with their bank account. Incorrect account details or Aadhaar mismatch issues can also delay installment payments.
Experts advise beneficiaries to verify:
- Aadhaar linkage status
- Bank account details
- Mobile number registration
- Beneficiary information on the portal
before the next installment is released.
Local Authorities Asked to Speed Up Verification
District administrations in several states have started awareness campaigns to ensure eligible beneficiaries complete e-KYC within the deadline.
Officials have reportedly directed local departments, gram panchayats, and field-level workers to spread awareness among farmers and assist them with the verification process.
Authorities are urging beneficiaries not to delay the process to avoid interruptions in future payments.
How to Check PM-Kisan Beneficiary Status
Farmers can also verify whether their installment status and beneficiary details are updated correctly.
Steps to Check Beneficiary Status
- Visit the PM-Kisan official website
- Open the “Beneficiary Status” section
- Enter Aadhaar number or bank account number
- Click on “Get Data”
- View payment and beneficiary details on the screen
This helps farmers confirm whether their installments are processed successfully or if any correction is required.
Why Timely Verification Matters
Government officials have made it clear that incomplete verification could lead to payment suspension. Since PM-Kisan installments are directly linked with Aadhaar and DBT systems, accurate beneficiary verification is now considered essential.
Farmers are therefore advised to complete all pending formalities well before June 30 to ensure the 23rd installment reaches their bank accounts without any difficulty.
