PM-KISAN 23rd Installment: Make These 5 Mistakes and Your ₹2,000 Will Get Stuck—Here’s How to Avoid It
PM Kisan 23rd Installment: The 23rd installment of the PM-KISAN scheme is due to arrive soon. If your e-KYC is incomplete or your Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account, your installment could get stalled. Learn about the 5 mistakes you must avoid immediately.
PM Kisan 23rd Installment: Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, crores of farmers across the country receive an annual financial aid of ₹6,000. This amount is deposited directly into their bank accounts in three installments of ₹2,000 each. Now that the time for the 23rd installment has drawn near, many farmers are apprehensive that their funds might get stuck. According to government data, the primary reason for non-receipt of funds is minor errors in the paperwork.
If you want to ensure that your ₹2,000 installment arrives without any hurdles, make sure to avoid these 5 mistakes:
- Failure to Complete e-KYC: The government has now made e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries. If you have not visited the portal to complete your KYC formalities, your installment will be automatically withheld.
- Aadhaar Not Linked to Bank Account: Simply possessing an Aadhaar card is not sufficient; it must be 'seeded' (linked) with your bank account. The government disburses funds through 'Direct Benefit Transfer' (DBT), a process that necessitates the linking of your Aadhaar with your bank account.
- Land Verification (Land Seeding): To avail the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme, the records pertaining to your landholding must be verified. If there are any discrepancies in your *Khasra* (plot) or *Khatouni* (landholding) numbers, or if the 'Land Seeding' process has not been completed, your payment may be halted.
- Incorrect Information During Registration: Even a minor error—such as a misspelling of your name, an incorrect bank account number, or a wrong IFSC code—while filling out the registration form can prove costly. Furthermore, if the name listed on your Aadhaar card does not match the name registered with your bank account, you will face difficulties in receiving the funds.
- Violation of Eligibility Rules: According to the scheme's regulations, if you pay income tax or have purchased land after February 1, 2019, you may fall outside the scope of this scheme.
What Should Farmers Do Now?
