The upcoming kharif season is one of the most crucial periods for Indian farmers, especially those preparing for paddy cultivation. With monsoon activity picking up across several states, farmers are busy arranging seeds, fertilizers, labor, and other agricultural inputs. Amid these preparations, there is encouraging news for beneficiaries of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

The Central Government is expected to release the 23rd installment of the scheme soon, providing eligible farmers with ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts. The financial support could prove particularly useful during the expensive sowing season.

Farmers Need Financial Support During Paddy Season

June and July are among the most demanding months for agriculture in India. Farmers invest heavily in land preparation, nursery development, transplantation, fertilizers, irrigation, diesel, and labor costs.

For small and marginal farmers, arranging working capital during this period can be challenging. The ₹2,000 assistance provided under the PM Kisan scheme often helps cover a portion of these seasonal expenses and reduces immediate financial pressure.

When Can the 23rd Installment Be Released?

Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.

The previous installment was credited during February–March 2026. Based on the scheme's four-month payment cycle, the next installment is expected to be released either in the last week of June 2026 or during the first half of July 2026.

Although no official payment date has been announced yet, reports suggest the government may release the funds ahead of peak paddy transplantation activities.

Complete These Two Tasks to Avoid Payment Delays

Farmers who want to receive the upcoming installment without interruption should ensure the following requirements are completed:

1. e-KYC Verification

e-KYC is mandatory for all PM Kisan beneficiaries. Farmers can complete the process through:

  • OTP-based verification on the PM Kisan portal

  • Biometric authentication at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC)

Failure to complete e-KYC may result in installment payments being withheld.

2. Land Record Verification

Beneficiaries must ensure their land records are properly verified and linked with the scheme database.

If the status shows "Land Seeding: No," farmers should immediately contact their local revenue office, block office, or tehsil administration to complete the verification process.

In addition, the bank account should be linked with Aadhaar and enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

How to Check PM Kisan 23rd Installment Status

Farmers can verify their eligibility and payment status online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official PM Kisan portal.

  2. Go to the Farmers Corner section.

  3. Click on Know Your Status.

  4. Enter your registration number and captcha code.

  5. Click on Get Data.

The portal will display details such as:

  • Beneficiary status

  • e-KYC status

  • Land verification status

  • Payment eligibility information

Why This Installment Is Important

The upcoming installment arrives at a time when farmers are making significant investments for the kharif crop season. The financial assistance can help purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other essentials required for paddy cultivation.

Farmers who have not yet completed e-KYC, Aadhaar-bank linking, or land verification are advised to finish these formalities immediately to avoid missing the next payment.

With the monsoon season underway and agricultural activity accelerating across the country, the PM Kisan 23rd installment could provide timely support to millions of farming families.
