PM Modi to Release PM-KISAN 22nd Installment from Guwahati

The Central Government has announced that the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will be released on March 13, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially transfer the funds from Guwahati, Assam, sending financial assistance directly to millions of farmers across the country.

Under this installment, more than ₹18,640 crore will be transferred to the bank accounts of around 9.32 crore eligible farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The scheme aims to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers to help them manage agricultural expenses.

The announcement was confirmed by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who also urged farmers to complete their e-KYC verification to ensure they receive the benefits without any delays.

Total Financial Assistance Under the Scheme Crosses ₹4.27 Lakh Crore

According to the Agriculture Ministry, the upcoming installment will significantly increase the total amount distributed under the PM-KISAN scheme since its launch.

Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that after the release of the 22nd installment, the total financial assistance transferred under the scheme will exceed ₹4.27 lakh crore.

Since the scheme was introduced in 2019, more than ₹4.09 lakh crore has already been credited directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmer families across India.

This direct transfer system helps eliminate intermediaries and ensures that the financial assistance reaches farmers quickly and transparently.

Farmers Receive ₹6,000 Annually Under PM-KISAN

The PM-KISAN scheme provides financial support of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmer families. This amount is distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each and is credited directly to farmers’ bank accounts.

The funds are meant to help farmers meet agricultural expenses such as:

  • Purchasing seeds

  • Buying fertilizers and pesticides

  • Managing basic farming requirements

By offering regular financial assistance, the government aims to support farmers in maintaining stable agricultural production and reducing financial stress during the crop cycle.

Women Farmers Also to Benefit

The Agriculture Ministry highlighted that the upcoming installment will also benefit a significant number of women farmers.

According to official data, over 2.15 crore women farmers will receive financial assistance under the 22nd installment. Officials say this support plays an important role in strengthening rural households and promoting women’s participation in agriculture.

The scheme has gradually expanded its reach to ensure that eligible farmers across different regions and communities can benefit from the financial aid.

Government Urges Farmers to Complete e-KYC

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged farmers to verify their details and complete the e-KYC process on the PM-KISAN portal as soon as possible.

Farmers are advised to:

  • Visit the official PM-KISAN website

  • Check their beneficiary status

  • Complete the e-KYC verification process

Failure to complete e-KYC may delay or prevent the transfer of funds to eligible beneficiaries.

The government has repeatedly emphasized that accurate records and verified bank details are essential to ensure smooth fund transfers.

Strengthening Rural Economy

Officials believe that the PM-KISAN scheme has played a crucial role in supporting rural households and strengthening the agricultural economy.

Regular financial assistance helps farmers manage essential agricultural inputs while also contributing to rural spending and economic activity.

As the government releases the 22nd installment, millions of farmers across India are expected to receive timely support ahead of upcoming agricultural activities.
