What is the PM-KISAN Scheme?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in February 2019. Under this scheme, landholding farmers are provided financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 annually. This amount is transferred in three installments to farmers' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme aims to help farmers meet their agricultural and domestic needs.
21st Installment Released via Video Conferencing
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN Scheme via video conferencing. This installment was specifically allocated to farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand who were affected by natural disasters.
How much amount did each state receive?
According to official government data, a total of 2.7 million farmers in the three states received direct financial assistance. This includes 2.7 lakh women farmers. Of the 27 lakh farmers in the three states to whom the government has released the 21st installment of PM Kisan Yojana, 801,045 farmers in Himachal Pradesh received ₹160.21 crore. Assistance of ₹221.98 crore was provided to 1109,895 farmers in Punjab, and ₹157.83 crore was transferred to 789,128 farmers in Uttarakhand. A total of over ₹540 crore was deposited directly into farmers' bank accounts.
Benefits Received So Far
According to official information, the PM Kisan Yojana was launched on February 24, 2019. Since then, a total of ₹13,626 crore has been disbursed to these three states. This has provided timely financial relief to millions of farmers.

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the central government stands with farmers under all circumstances. He added that providing timely relief to farmers to compensate for losses caused by natural disasters like floods and landslides is the government's top priority.
