PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2025-26: Rabi Season Crop Insurance Now Open, Here’s How to Apply from Home

The Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) 2025-26 for the Rabi season has officially begun. Farmers can now register for crop insurance online from the comfort of their homes through the official website or mobile app.

The deadline to apply for crop insurance is 31 December 2025. Farmers are advised not to wait until the last minute, as technical issues or high traffic could prevent timely registration. Early enrollment ensures complete coverage for the season.

Benefits of PM Fasal Bima Yojana 2025

Crop production is highly dependent on weather, and unforeseen events like hailstorms, floods, droughts, or wildlife damage can cause significant losses. PMFBY provides financial protection against such risks at a minimal premium. The current rates are:

• Kharif crops: 2%

• Rabi crops: 1.5%

• Horticulture/Cash crops: 5%

The remaining premium is jointly paid by the central and state governments, making this an affordable insurance option for farmers.

How to Apply Online

Farmers no longer need to visit an office to apply. Registration can be completed via the PMFBY mobile app or the official website:

2. Click Farmer Corner → Guest Farmer

3. Fill in name, address, Aadhaar, and bank details

4. Log in using OTP verification

5. Complete the application form and upload required documents

6. Make the payment and download the receipt
