PM e-Drive Scheme: Get subsidy of up to Rs 9.7 lakh on buying an electric truck! Know who will get it and how..

After electric buses, the government will now also provide a subsidy on the purchase of electric trucks. Increasing the number of e-trucks will reduce carbon emissions. E-trucks can reduce pollution by up to 35 percent compared to diesel trucks.
Although e-trucks will cause zero pollution due to running on a battery, carbon emissions occur in the production of electricity used to charge the battery. According to that, the Ministry of Heavy Industries has done this calculation.
Under the PM E-Drive Scheme, a subsidy will be given on the purchase of e-trucks, and Rs 500 crore has been allocated for this item. The government will provide a subsidy on the purchase of 5600 e-trucks. This subsidy will be from 2.7 lakh to 9.7 lakh. The two-year period of the PM E-Drive Scheme is ending on March 31 next year.
Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that out of 5600 trucks, 1100 e-trucks will be run in Delhi, and an amount of Rs 100 crore will be given as a subsidy for e-trucks registered in Delhi.
This subsidy will be given as per the first-come, first serve rule. Kumaraswamy said that Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has decided to deploy 150 e-trucks at its various places in the next two years. To get a subsidy on the purchase of an e-truck, it will be necessary to scrap your old truck.
You will have to scrap the old truck in the scrap center authorized by the Public Transport Department, and get a certificate, and the subsidy amount will be given on that basis. Currently, companies like Volvo Eicher, Tata Motors, and Ashok Leyland are manufacturing e-trucks in the country.

Similarly, a target was set to give a subsidy on the purchase of 24.5 lakh two-wheelers in two years, and till now, a subsidy has been given to 12 lakh two-wheelers.
Under the PM e-drive scheme, an allocation of Rs 10,900 crore has been made for a subsidy on the purchase of all types of electric vehicles.
