Women Transport Card: The Delhi government will set up approximately 50 centers across the national capital to distribute the "Pink Saheli" card, launched on Monday, to provide women and transgender individuals with free bus travel and access to various public transport systems through a single smart card.

Card Usage and Security

According to a statement, approximately 50 centers, including district magistrate offices and selected Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) locations, will be authorized to issue the cards. Each Pink Card will be linked to the beneficiary's mobile number and Aadhaar, allowing verification of age, gender identity, and residence in Delhi.

Pink Saheli Card: A New Beginning

President Draupadi Murmu launched the "Pink National Common Mobility Card" and three other women-related welfare schemes of the Delhi government at a function here. Under the scheme, eligible women residents of Delhi will be able to travel free on DTC buses. Additionally, this card can be used for paid travel on other public transport services, including the Delhi Metro and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).

'Pink' and 'Blue' Cards Issued (Pink Saheli Card)

The statement said that the Pink Card will replace the current paper-based pink ticket, making public transport more accessible, technology-based, and secure. Three types of cards will be issued under this program: Pink for eligible women, Blue for general passengers, and Orange for monthly passes. The Pink and Blue cards will be issued in the first phase, while the Orange card will be introduced later.

Authorized Agencies for Card Issuance

The DTC has authorized Hindon Mercantile Limited (MuffinPay) and Airtel Payments Bank Limited to issue the cards. These cards will be integrated with the existing automated fare collection system on the national capital's public transport network. The Pink Card will be provided free of charge at government expense.
