E-PRAAPTI: Good News! You can now locate your old PF savings even without a UAN number. The EPFO is launching the 'E-PRAAPTI' portal, where old accounts can be identified and activated using just your Aadhaar card.

E-PRAAPTI: Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, has announced that the EPFO is soon going to launch the 'E-PRAAPTI' (EPF Aadhaar-Based Access Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts) portal. This portal is specifically designed for individuals who have either forgotten about their PF accounts from previous employers or who no longer possess the records for them.

What is the E-PRAAPTI Portal, and How Does It Work?

Often, during job transitions, old PF accounts get left behind, and the lack of a link to a Universal Account Number (UAN) becomes a significant hurdle.

Access Without a UAN: The most significant feature of this portal is that you will not require a UAN to view your old accounts.

Aadhaar-Based Login: You can authenticate your identity simply using your Aadhaar card, and the system will automatically locate any old, inoperative accounts linked to your name and Aadhaar number.

Profile Updates and Linking: Once an account is located, you will be able to update your profile details and link that account to your current, active UAN.

Key Features of the Portal

Tracking of Old Accounts: It will become easier to locate accounts that have remained dormant (inactive) for years.

Paperless Process: The entire process will be completely digital, thereby reducing manual paperwork and the need for repeated visits to EPFO offices.

Two-Phase Rollout: The first phase will assist individuals who still possess their old Member ID. The subsequent phase will extend this facility to those who have forgotten or lost their Member ID.

Fast Claim Settlement: The process of transferring old funds into your primary account—and subsequently withdrawing them—will be significantly expedited. The Accelerating Pace of EPFO

According to Minister Mandaviya, the EPFO has achieved a record level in claim settlements (the process of withdrawing funds) during the financial year 2025-26. Thanks to digitization and various reforms, withdrawals and other benefits are now reaching subscribers with significantly greater speed and transparency compared to the past.
