The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched a new feature, "Passbook Lite," on its member portal. With this feature, subscribers can now view a simplified version of their EPF passbook directly on the portal. This eliminates the need to log in to the Passbook website separately. Members can view their contributions, withdrawals, and balances in one place. This information was provided by Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Previously, when employees (EPF members) changed jobs, their EPF account was transferred to the new employer's PF office through Form 13 online. The old PF office then prepared a transfer certificate and sent it to the new PF office. Now, members will be able to download it directly from the member portal in PDF format.

EPF Settlements Will Be Faster
Previously, approval from a higher-level official was required to approve PF transfers, settlements, advances, and refunds. This has now been simplified.

What is Passbook Lite?
This new feature is now available on the EPFO's member portal. This will eliminate the need for EPF members to log in to the Passbook portal to view their passbook and access contributions, withdrawals, and balance information. This will provide convenience to members and reduce the burden on the Passbook portal. Additionally, the system has been further simplified by integrating existing APIs into the Member Portal. EPF members will now be able to check the status of their transfer applications online. This will make the entire process transparent and allow members to easily confirm their PF transfers.
