EPFO Interest Update: If you contribute to the EPF, there is great news for you. The EPFO has issued instructions to begin the process of crediting 8.25% interest to PF accounts for the financial year 2025-26. Soon, the interest amount will be reflected in the PF accounts of crores of employees, increasing the total balance held in these accounts. Here, you can learn how to check your PF balance and the credited interest. It also explains what to do if the interest does not appear.

When will the interest be credited to the PF account?

The EPFO has ordered field offices to credit 8.25% interest to the accounts. The interest amount will be updated in individual accounts sequentially. If the interest is not yet visible in your account, there is no need to panic; the interest will be credited to all accounts gradually.

Check your PF balance using these 4 methods:

1. EPFO Website: Visit the EPFO member passbook website. Log in using your UAN and password. Once you select the Member ID, your PF balance and interest details will be displayed.

2. UMANG App: Open the UMANG app, select the EPFO service, and click on 'View Passbook'. You can view your balance after logging in with your UAN.

3. Missed Call: Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. You will receive PF balance details via a message shortly.

4. Balance via Message – If your UAN is active and linked to your Aadhaar, PAN, or bank account, send a message typing "EPFOHO UAN" from your registered mobile number to 7738299899. You will receive the balance details shortly.

Will there be a loss if the interest is credited late?

You will not incur any loss even if the interest entry appears late in your PF passbook. The EPFO calculates interest according to the rules, and the full amount is credited to your account.

What to do if the interest is not visible?

If the interest is not updated in your PF account even after some time, first check again via the member passbook or the UMANG app. If necessary, you can contact the EPFO helpline number or visit the nearest office.
