It is noteworthy that Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) revise petrol and diesel prices daily around 6:00 AM, aligning them with prevailing global crude oil rates and currency exchange rates.

Losses for Oil Companies

India's state-run oil companies are currently facing immense financial pressure. Indian Oil (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) are collectively incurring daily losses of up to ₹1,000–₹1,700 crore on the sale of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG. It is estimated that oil companies are currently incurring a loss of ₹14 per liter on petrol, ₹42 per liter on diesel, and ₹674 per cylinder on domestic cooking gas (LPG).
