Petrol-Diesel Rates: Amidst the conflict between the US and Iran, there is some relief as petrol and diesel prices across the country remain unchanged today, even though crude oil prices have risen.
Petrol-Diesel Rates Today (July 16): Petrol and diesel prices remain stable across the country. According to rates released by state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) at 6 AM, the price of petrol in Delhi is ₹102.12 per liter, and diesel is ₹95.20 per liter. Similarly, in Ghaziabad, petrol costs ₹101.88 per liter and diesel ₹95.36 per liter today.

Major tax changes effective today
Amidst stable petrol and diesel prices, the government has implemented significant changes to the windfall tax on its exports, effective today. In light of recent military hostilities between the US and Iran, the government has raised the export tax on diesel to ₹15.5 per liter, up from the previous ₹8.5 per liter. Similarly, the tax on ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) has been increased to ₹14.5 per liter, up from ₹7.5 per liter. Meanwhile, providing relief for petrol, the government has reduced the export duty to ₹2.5 per liter, down from the previous ₹4 per liter.
