Petrol-Diesel Prices Today: There has been no change in petrol and diesel prices on Wednesday, November 4. Following the central government's decision to reduce the export duty on petrol, prices for petrol and diesel in major cities remained largely stable on Wednesday. According to a notification from the Ministry of Finance, this new arrangement has been in effect since October 31, with the export duty on petrol reduced from ₹2.50 per litre to ₹0 per litre.

While the export duty on petrol has been abolished, the export duty on diesel has been increased from ₹8.50 per litre to ₹11.50 per litre.

Variations in petrol and diesel prices across different cities and states are due to several factors, including local taxes (Value Added Tax or VAT), freight charges, and other local considerations. Although global oil prices have fluctuated due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, domestic retail prices have remained unchanged. Fluctuations in crude oil continue.

Oil prices saw fluctuations on Tuesday (local time), following a decline over the previous two days. This occurred as traders assessed mixed signals regarding the direction of the US-Iran peace talks. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was trading at around $97 per barrel, having moved within a range of approximately $5. Meanwhile, Brent crude closed below $104.

Citing a diplomat, Bloomberg reported that both Iran and America are currently reviewing new proposals presented by mediators, aimed at resolving the differences between them. In a post on 'X' (Twitter), Iran's national security chief stated that Washington's response has, thus far, "not been satisfactory."
