The surge in crude oil prices continues. Brent crude has reached a 5-month high, climbing above $113. Since India imports a large portion of its oil requirements, this directly impacts the prices of petrol and diesel. If crude prices continue to rise in this manner, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country could also see an increase in the near future.

However, state-run oil companies have not made any changes to the prices of petrol or diesel today.

Today’s petrol and diesel prices in your city:

Mumbai: In the country’s financial capital, petrol is priced at ₹111.21 per litre and diesel at ₹97.83 per litre.

Chennai: In Chennai, petrol is available at ₹107.76 per litre and diesel at ₹99.55 per litre.

Kolkata: Here, petrol is priced at ₹113.51 per litre and diesel at ₹99.82 per litre.

Bengaluru: Here, petrol is priced at ₹111.68 per litre and diesel at ₹99.56 per litre.

Hyderabad: Here, petrol is priced at ₹116.15 per litre and diesel at ₹104.23 per litre.

Oil prices continue to climb for the third consecutive week

Rising attacks on infrastructure in Saudi Arabia have increased the risk of supply disruptions in the Middle East, pushing Brent crude oil prices higher for the third consecutive week.

The global benchmark (Brent crude) is trading at around $113 per barrel, reflecting an increase of nearly 3 percent this week. Meanwhile, the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) remains above $99 per barrel. The recent surge in prices follows claims by Iran-backed Houthi rebels that they have carried out attacks on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea port of Yanbu, as well as strikes on an oil field and an airport in the country.

This sudden escalation in tension could destabilize the critical shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz—a vital passage for crude oil exports, which had recently seen volumes return to near pre-war levels.

Global oil markets have experienced significant volatility this year. Brent crude prices have risen by more than 85 percent, driven largely by the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, which are now entering their ninth month. Prices for refined petroleum products—particularly diesel—have seen an even sharper spike.
