The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has introduced a facility to issue free tickets using an updated version of the ETIM (Electronic Ticket Issuing Machine). Through this facility, a zero-fare ticket will be issued to the passenger. The ticket will be generated via a QR code, making the issuance process transparent and convenient.

Under the new system, the passenger must first select their boarding and alighting points. Next, they must select the option for persons with disabilities. Then, the QR code on their identity card will be scanned using the ETIM machine. Upon scanning, the passenger's details—including their name, date of birth, type and percentage of disability, and Aadhaar number—will appear on the machine's screen. A zero-fare ticket will be issued immediately after scanning; this means the passenger will not have to pay a single rupee. This is a simple process for issuing tickets via QR code.

**Ticket issuance based on the percentage of disability**
The ETIM machine will automatically determine the number of tickets to be issued based on the disability percentage. This means that if the disability is less than 80%, a single free ticket will be issued. If the disability exceeds 80%, two free tickets will be issued; one of these will be for an accompanying person traveling with the passenger with a disability.

**What to do if the QR code does not scan**
A separate reporting facility for tickets issued to persons with disabilities has also been provided within the AAFC system, ensuring that records of free travel are maintained digitally. Additionally, if the QR code on a passenger's identity card fails to scan, the passenger can still travel under the previously existing system.
