According to Paytm's press release issued on May 13, 2024, One97 Communications, which is the parent company of Paytm, said that the company is drawing the attention of such users towards UPI Lite wallet, doing daily transactions. Paytm UPI Lite acts as an on-device wallet.
What is UPI Lite?
It is designed for fast, secure, and reliable payments, allowing users to make instant, fail-proof transactions up to Rs 500. According to Paytm's press release, users have the facility to add up to Rs 2,000 to their wallet twice a day. In this way, the daily limit reaches Rs 4,000. This service is especially useful for people who frequently make small payments like buying groceries, paying for parking, or paying daily commute fare.
How to activate UPI Lite payment on Paytm app
Go to the Paytm app, and click on the 'UPI Lite Activate' icon on the homepage.
Select the bank account you want to use with UPI Lite.
Enter the amount you want to add to UPI Lite to initiate payment
Verify the MPIN to create your UPI Lite account.
Your UPI Lite account will be activated for easy, one tap payments.
You can use UPI Lite Wallet to make payments by scanning any UPI QR code, entering the mobile number or selecting one from the contact list.
